Thrifting in Steveston: 5 Secondhand Shops in Richmond's Historic Fishing Village
Planning a thrift day in Steveston? Here are the five thrift, vintage and consignment shops on and around Moncton Street, plus the best order to visit them.
Steveston is one of the best thrifting afternoons in the Lower Mainland. This little fishing village at the southwest tip of Richmond is full of heritage buildings, cute shops and good places to eat, and five secondhand stores sit within a few blocks of each other. Park once, walk the route, and finish with fish and chips by the water.
- Steveston Thrift Shop (3560 Moncton St)
The newest store in town is also the biggest. Steveston Thrift Shop opened in May 2026 and has quickly become a must-stop. It has racks and racks of clothing, a strong furniture section, books, records, jewelry and housewares. What really sets it apart is the presentation: the curated vintage displays are done beautifully, and the storefront is one of the nicest on Moncton. It's run as a community nonprofit, with proceeds supporting local groups including Pathways Clubhouse and Richmond Cares Richmond Gives. It's also the only thrift shop in Richmond that offers free donation pickup, which is handy if you're clearing out furniture. Bonus it's open 7 days a week.
- Steveston Antique Mall (3551 Moncton St)
Directly across the street is the Steveston Antique Mall. [Add 1–2 sentences of your own: what it's like inside, what you usually find there, and who will love it.] With a thrift store and an antique mall facing each other, this corner of Moncton is the heart of Steveston's secondhand scene.
- Treasure Cottage (3800 Moncton St)
Further along Moncton, Treasure Cottage has been a Steveston fixture for over 30 years. It's run by SideBySide Children's Village Society, and all net proceeds support foster children and vulnerable youth in BC. Look for clothing, furniture and home décor. It's open every day, which makes it an easy stop any time you're in the village.
- Bon Retour (3806 Moncton St)
Right next door, Bon Retour is where to go for designer finds. This women's consignment boutique has been in business for over 30 years and carries preloved designer clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry and accessories at a fraction of retail. It's a great contrast to the thrift stores: more polished and more selective, and well worth a browse if you love labels.
- Richmond Hospital Healthcare Auxiliary Thrift Shop (3731 Chatham St)
One block over on Chatham Street, this shop is worth the detour for the building alone. It sits in a former Methodist church built in 1894, the oldest church in Richmond still standing on its original site. More than 300 volunteers run the shop, and all proceeds support medical equipment and patient programs at Richmond Hospital and local care homes. Plan ahead: it closes at 2:45 p.m. every day and opens at noon on weekends, so make this your first stop.
Plan Your Steveston Thrift Crawl
Start at the Hospital Auxiliary shop on Chatham before it closes. Then walk to Moncton for Steveston Thrift Shop and the Antique Mall, and finish with Treasure Cottage and Bon Retour. The whole route is walkable and there's plenty to eat along the way.
